Tennessee captive premium doubles in 2025

The Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance’s (TDCI) licenced five new captives and 50 new cells in 2025, while captive premiums rose in 2025 to $4.2bn compared to $2.1bn in 2024. 

Tennessee has 184 captives and 703 cells domiciled in the jurisdiction as of today.
