AM Best assigns rating to Vertex Pharmaceuticals captive

AM Best has assigned a financial strength rating of ‘A’ (excellent) and a long-term issuer credit rating of “a” (excellent) to Vermont-domiciled Torreyana Insurance Company (TIC). The outlook for the ratings is stable.

TIC is wholly-owned by Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated, which (re)insures the company’s global liability and property risks.
