In this GCP Short, produced in partnership with We Are Guernsey and the Guernsey International Insurance Association (GIIA), we reflect on 25 years of protected cell company legislation in the jurisdiction.
The Protected Cell Companies Ordinance was legislated for in 1997 and at the end of 2021 there were 58 PCCs in the domicile, containing 294 cells excluding those used for insurance linked securities.
PCCs are used for a wide variety of reasons and business cases and in this 20 minute episode we hear from three experts with different perspectives of working with these entities across the full spectrum of utilisation.
Richard is joined by Paul Sykes, Managing Director of Aon Insurance Managers (Guernsey) Limited, Kate Storey, Partner at Walkers law firm, and regulator Caroline Bradley, Director of Authorisations and Innovation Division at the Guernsey Financial Services Commission.
