MAXIS Global Benefits Network (MAXIS GBN) has appointed Nicolas Denys as its chief underwriting officer, effective 1 February 2025, subject to regulatory checks.
Denys joins MAXIS GBN from AXA Group where he had worked for 25 years with his role spanning across underwriting, pricing, portfolio monitoring, product management and actuarial accounting.
MAXIS is the international employee benefits joint venture between MetLife and AXA, which provides fronting and programme management services for employee benefits programmes.
He takes over from Nicola Fordham who took on a new role as chief solutions officer at MAXIS in September.
Denys will also sit on the MAXIS GBN executive committee and report to Mattieu Rouot, CEO of MAXIS.
“I’m pleased to be welcoming Nicolas to the business,” said Rouot. “He has a wealth of experience in the industry and his strong technical, process and people management skills will be hugely beneficial to both our excellent Underwriting team and the business.”
In his new role, Denys will lead a team of pricing underwriters who work closely with the MAXIS network of local insurers, the MAXIS EU underwriting hub and its multinational clients.
“I’m delighted to be joining MAXIS GBN and am looking forward to using my technical expertise to lead the Underwriting team to even more success,” Denys said.
“Having recently led the AXA Group technical review of MAXIS GBN’s activities, I’ve been able to get to know the challenges and ambition of the business and familiarise myself with processes in place.
“I’m really excited to join the team and help MAXIS go from strength-to-strength.”
